Often considered as the center of the city, Siam Square is the perfect place for upmarket shopping and business. In Thailand, the law considers that a foreigner cannot own a land. The land where is built the property will be rented for a period between 30 and 90 years. Besides, the purchase is made in foreign currency (the bath, which is the Thai currency is not used).
As for the purchase of a condominuim, the buyer will receive a "full ownership title" thanks to the "condominuim license" but only if the good is legally registered as such.
It is encouraged to contact a professional of the real-estate market in the area to know the different steps of the buying process. It is well advised to be careful of unscrupulous vendors who might propose you a land or even a property he does not own.

Low Season

The period from May to October corresponds to the rainy season. As the country is close to the equator, the effects of the monsoon are reduced even if the sea can be rough.The region enjoys a tropical wet climate with  steady and warm temperatures all over the year. During this period, it is not always raining but there are high rainfalls with overcast sky. However, this season can be a nice way to discover the island without the traditional crowds of tourists and benefiting from attractive prices.

High Season

From November to April, it is the dry season. The month of March can be the best compromise between crowd and weather : tourists are fewer and prices are cheaper while the monsoon has not starting yet. This period provides an enjoyable climate to take advantage of the dream beaches and discover the stunning landscapes and temperatures are around 30 degrees.

Peak Season

The period from December to February is the best one as the weather is dry, it hardly ever rains, there is a blue sky and temperatures are pleasant and not particularly too much high. However, it also corresponds to the busiest period of the year. Mainly in January and February, hordes of tourists arrive in Thailand to discover the stunning landscapes. Prices skyrocket and places are crowded.

Jim Thompson Museum

Jim Thompson was a famous American businessman and an avid collector of Asian works of art who initiated the silk trade in Thailand. He mysteriously disappeared in Malaysia and his house turned into a museum. This elegant residential enclave sits on the bank of the Saen Saeb Canal and is an entire place dedicated to Southeast Asian art and culture. This is the best place to discover magnificent collections of Thai statues and masterpieces, in a cosy atmosphere of a private house.

Lumphini Park

Over 57 hectares spreads the Lumphini Park which was created in 1920 in the heart of the capital. It was named in tribute to Buddha's birthplace in Nepal. This greenery spot is the best place to escape from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, wihtout leaving the city. Offering tranquility and fresh air, the Lumphini Park is made of shaded paths, a large artificial lake and splendid lawns. The park provides various facilities such as playgrounds for kids, open-air concerts in Sunday afternoon, as well as paddle boats on the lake. The area is also home to varans and geckos and you can attend tai-chi-chuan or even aerobics classes with locals.

Chatuchak market

The Chatuchak market is the largest and most interesting market of the city. Situated on the North side of Bangkok, it welcomes over 15,000 merchants who sell all types of things from food and beverages to clothing, by ways of Thai items. This is the excellent opportunity to bargain-hunt, to negotiate and above all to uncover good bargains while strolling in the nice alleys.
