Ubud is considered the cultural center of Bali. Ubud is also called the "City of Artists", as painting and music have taken a prominent place since many generations. Located in the center of the island, Ubud is located between the rice fields of Jatiluwih, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the sacred forest of monkeys. The atmosphere in Ubud is relaxing, many art galleries, museums and craft workshops are present and allow visitors to discover Ubud in an authentic way. Ubud is far from what can be seen in some popular neighbourhoods like Kuta or Seminyak, here it is the perfect place to discover and learn about Balinese culture and its history.

Low Season

From November to April, it is the wet season, which is characterized by hot and humid climates. Temperatures easily reach 32 degrees, with high moisture (75%). Rains are heavier from December to February.

High Season
mai 01 - oct. 31

The dry season takes place from May to October. There is a mild climate with nice temperatures (around 27 degrees). Even during the dry season, the weather can be rainy but that's short duration rainfalls which are mainly at the end of the day. The perfect period to visit Bali corresponds to the months of May, June and September in order to enjoy less crowded places with a  nice weather and temperatures.

Peak Season
juil. 01 - juil. 31

The months of June and July correspond to peak tourist affluences. Tourist resorts are taken by storm, prices are at their highest and places are crowded. However, visitors enjoy a perfect sunny weather during this mild and dry month.

Ubud Monkey Forest

Situated in the village of Padangtegal, the Ubud Monkey Forest, also known as the Sacred Monkey Forest of Padangtegal, is a major spiritual, economic, educational and conservation center. This natural forest sanctuary became one of the most popular attractions in Ubud. The forest is home to more than 700 Macaque monkeys and more than 180 species of trees. This park has also various temples that can be visited: Pura Dalem Agung is the main temple and is dedicated to Shiva, Pura Beji was built in tribute to the goddess Gangga and then Prajapati Temple was built for Prajapati God. Various events are organized in the Monkey Forest, mainly celebrations and processions, which can be an original and unprecedented way to discover the Balinese culture.

Jatiluwih Ricefields

Jatiluwih rice terraces present a large area in West Bali and it became a famous spot due to its scenic exotic landscapes. This natural panorama of the Mount Batur and the caldera of Kintamani offers dramatic views and a soothing retreat away from the island's crowded south. The area is home to more than 600Ha of rice fields on the Batukaru mountain side. They are cultivated according to traditional water management dated from the 9th century.

Pura Taman Saraswati

The Pura Saraswati is a magnificent water temple in Ubud which is a must-see destination. It has leisure walks and offers sightseeing views on the breathtaking landscapes. The relaxing temple has a classical architecture and a beautiful foyer featuring ponds filled with blooming pink lotuses. Various events are organized in the temple, such as traditional dance performances.
