In July and August, Calgary welcomes a horde of tourists who come admiring the city and attend its countless events. Therefore, prices are more expensive but the city is very dynamic. During this period, the weather is the most pleasant one with nice temperatures and sunny days.

Heritage Park Historical Village

The Heritage Park Historical Village is an historic park in Calgary, open from May to October -even if the Gasoline Alley museum is open throughout the year. Situated on the southwestern part of the city, the park provides 51 hectares of land and would be the largest Canadian modern history museum and a very popular attraction. The area gathers numerous historic buildings and some of them have been brought to other places in Canada to exhibit them whereas others have been reproduced. The exhibitions displayed in the park present the Canadian history from the 1860s to the 1950s. With more than 180 attractions, you will experience a unique visit: move in the park in a working steam-powered locomotive, test historic carousels, get on a horse-drawn wagon or even discover an Aboriginal settlement.

Canada's Sports Hall of Fame

The Sports Hall of Fame is an international award-winning facility located on the site of the 1988 Olympic Winter Games in Calgary. Over 40,000 square feet of inspiring experiences, discover 12 interactive galleries and a collection of 100,000 artefacts. With 52 hands-on interactive exhibits like shadow boxing, wheelchair racing, rowing and 3D hockey with Canadian champions, there's something fun, educational and inspiring for people of all ages.

Hangar Flight Museum

Also known as the Aerospace Museum, the Hangar Flight Museum is situated on the south of the international airport of Calgary. The museum was created in 1975 by pilots of the Second World War and aviation lovers. It displays more than 24 planes and 58 aeronautics engines. Some of them come from the former "Air Museum of Canada" which closed in 1971. The museum is also dedicated to Canadian space programs and a memorial has been built in tribute to airmen from Alberta who died during the WWII. This attraction will seduce any member of the family for an entertaining moment.
