A 6 hectare piece of land in the shape of a tortoise’s shell, this unspoilt island is carpeted in lush vegetation and set amidst the stunning bay of Angra dos Reis, one of the most glorious natural sites in the whole country.
Maná island is located off the Costa Verde, between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, just beside the colonial era town of Paraty. It’s a magical place – the sea is studded with 365 mountainous, jungle-covered islands and no fewer than 2,000 sandy beaches. You can hike through this luxuriant natural habitat, accompanied by the calls of monkeys and parrots, go scuba-diving with sea turtles amongst the underwater wrecks of galleons or take a boat trip past private islands with their splendid villas, home to celebrities and businessmen: the whole area is breathtakingly beautiful.
Boasting a 30 metre long stretch of private beach Maná island hosts several buildings, which blend seamlessly into their natural setting: a main residence with a dining room, two living rooms and a kitchen; four chalets each with a bedroom and bathroom; and the outbuildings: the caretaker’s house and a boathouse.
In total, there is room for 8 guests – enough for an extended family group, two families, or perhaps a group of friends. Everywhere you look, the views are stunning. The chalets have access to a communal lounge area and bar (347 m²), and are surrounded by a large wooden terrace, with the sea just metres away, beckoning you to take the plunge! A covered area surrounded by palm trees is home to a large built-in barbecue. A short distance away is a natural freshwater swimming pool carved out of the rock – just the thing for any guest in search of sheer relaxation.
The island has its own supplies of drinking water and all the electricity you will need is generated by solar panels (there is also a back-up generator).
It can be reached by boat in just 15 minutes from the magnificent historic town of Paraty. A three hour car journey from Rio, the island boasts its own private heliport and is a 40 minute flight from the ‘Marvellous City’.
It all shapes up to an incredible experience – one that you can share with your family or friends. Then there’s the peace and mind provided by the back-up electric generator, air conditioning in all bedrooms, a fully-fitted kitchen and a motorboat to go exploring with: all you have to bring is the Champagne!

• The island has its own heliport;
• All bedrooms are air-conditioned;
• The island is located 1.6 km from the coast – a 15 minute boat ride from Paraty. A 6.7 m long speedboat is included in the rental package (room for 8 people / Mercury 135 OPTIMAX engine);
• You may leave your vehicle in the marina car park, which is 10 km north of Paraty, and then take a boat to the island directly from there.
