Even though market prices have declined over the last five years, considering it to be stalled, the market has been stable since 2014. It allowed a slight increase in prices. This stabilization has led to an increase in available offers at more competitive prices. As a result, in areas such as Nice, Antibes and Cannes, the number of transactions is up. Before any investments, international foreigners must approach an industry professional to know the conditions related to this investment. This professional must first collect the primary information of the purchaser, his nationality, his country of residence, his professional situation and his matrimonial regime. Members of the European Union and countries signatories to a special agreement with France, benefit from special regimes. On the other hand, foreign buyers do not need to constitute a company to benefit from another status and therefore depend on a different legal and fiscal regime.

The citadel of Villefranche-sur-Mer was built in the 16th century by the Duke of Savoy to protect the city of Nice against its invaders. It was built by Italian architects, who designed a new kind of fortified fortifications that met the requirements of military architecture, which was linked to the development of powder artillery. Today, the Citadel of Villefranche-sur-Mer is classified as an "Historic Monument" and offers an exceptional as well as unexpected setting.
The harbour of La Darse is located on the West side of the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer, South of the citadel. It is the base of an historic military port built in 1550 that served as a privileged supply point. A century later, the port was added a "dry dock" for the construction, renovation and maintenance of the galleys. Since 1990, the port of the dock has been included in the inventory of historical monuments to protect the historical infrastructures that surround it, such as "the old forge" or "Corderie". Over time, the port of Darse has become one of the main marinas of Cote d'Azur
