Laura grew up learning about real estate from her father, a founding partner of a real estate office in Atlanta, GA. The influence nurtured her interest in the art of assisting clients in finding their dream homes. Her family has had ties to Horse Cove since the 1940s, a valley between Highlands and Cashiers. After graduating from Centre College in Kentucky with degrees in Spanish and Environmental Studies, Laura spent three years with the Peace Corps in South Africa. Upon returning to the States, she realized her dream of small-town life, moved to Cashiers full-time, and now calls the Plateau her home. She is a broker assistant to Debby Hattler and became a licensed broker in August 2021. Laura has always been captivated by architecture and home layouts, a hobby translated from drawing floor plans when she was a little girl. She even participated in constructing an Earthship, an entirely self-sustaining, green building in Uruguay. Laura enjoys integrating into the local community, traveling back to Africa with her husband, and keeping up with their two young children.
