Diagonal Mar is the longest Avenue of the city joined by the Mediterranean sea. Urban planners have chosen to transform this industrial area into a futuristic, modern complex of high-end buildings and apartments. Today, it is a center for events and conferences, hosting some of the country's biggest music festivals. This project was strongly contested by the local population, very attached to the charm of its neighbourhood and their community minds. However, Diagonal Mar compensates these controversies, with a standing worthy of the biggest international business centers. The property prices are high but attract the residents of the middle and wealthy classes who enjoy, from their apartments, exceptional views of the park and the seaside.
