Cap Martin is located between the city of Menton and Monaco. It enjoys an ideal position that stretches from the Mediterranean coastline to the summit of Mount Agel (1145m). The Castle of Roquebrune Cap Martin was built in the 10th century to defend the Western frontier of the domain against the attacks of the Saracens. The castle have had many owners, the Grimaldi family in the fifteenth century who left its name to the castle, then the Roquebrunois citizens in 1808 before belonging to a rich British tourist who eventually ceded the castle to the city. From the top of the castle remains a breathtaking view of Monaco, the sea and the city.
The walk of "Le Corbusier" hold its name from the famous Franco-Suisse architect Édouard Jeanneret-Gris, also nicknamed "Le Corbusier". It is a coastal path that runs along Cape Bénat and connects Roquebrune-Cap-Martin to Monaco, through a breathtaking landscape and views of the Italian coast. The trail is particularly rocky and does not include a beach, but small stone staircases allow to reach the sea. Today the trail is very well preserved and enjoys an exceptional Mediterranean vegetation. The trail is also accessible all year round and in all weather conditions. On the way back, it is possible to rest in the Parc du Cap Martin alongside the centuries-old olive trees.
