Tonya began her real estate career in Florida, selling homes for her family's development and construction business. In 1995, she and her husband moved their family to the Cashiers area. She obtained her NC real estate broker's license in 2010. Tonya has been active in her community as PTO president, softball coach, Rotarian, and Summit and Highlands School volunteer. Tonya earned her bachelor's and master's degrees at Western Carolina University. She and her husband of 25 years, Ron, a real estate broker, work together in the field. Tonya has also worked as an executive in the nonprofit sector and as a local educator. She and her husband have three daughters, the oldest attending graduate school at Boston Architectural College studying Sustainable Design. Their youngest is a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill, where she is majoring in biology and neuroscience. Their middle daughter is an active member of the NC National Guard. In their off time, they enjoy spending time with their family, friends, and pets; boating on Lake Glenville; water sports; classic car shows; music festivals; and traveling. Tonya also enjoys cooking, reading, and collecting vintage homewares.
